Andhra Pradesh Election Result: After Chandrababu Naidu, TDP's R. Ravindra Kumar has said that Muslims will continue to get reservation in Andhra Pradesh, whereas BJP had opposed reservation on the basis of religion.



Andhra Pradesh Assembly Election 2024: Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which won the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections in the alliance of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Jana Sena Party, has said a big thing about Muslim reservation. Telugu Desam Party leader R. Ravindra Kumar said on Friday (7 June 2024) that the reservation given to the Muslim community in Andhra Pradesh will continue in future also.

Talking to news agency ANI, R. Ravindra Kumar said, "Yes, we will continue Muslim reservation in Andhra Pradesh. There is no problem in it." This comment of K Ravindra Kumar comes a month after the assurance given by TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu. A month ago, Chandrababu Naidu had also said that even though his ally BJP had claimed not to give reservation on the basis of religion, his party would continue Muslim reservation in Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to reporters on May 5, 2024, Chandrababu Naidu had said, "From the beginning we have been supporting four percent reservation for Muslims and this will continue." The TDP chief had said this a few days after Prime Minister Modi said this during the Lok Sabha election campaign, in which the PM had said that he would give quota to Dalits, tribals and Other Backward Classes (OBC) to Muslims on the basis of religion. NDA alliance gets huge majority in Andhra Pradesh

Let us tell you that Chandrababu Naidu's TDP is part of the NDA alliance which defeated Y. S. YSRCP led by Jagan Mohan Reddy has been defeated. Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena is also a part of the alliance. NDA has secured a huge majority in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections by winning 164 out of 175 seats. In NDA, TDP has won 135 seats, Janasena has won 21 seats and BJP has won 8 seats.
